Music for Recovery

I cannot praise how much music helps me. When I’m sleeping, getting ready for work, driving, at work, exercising, crying in bed, when I’m doing art and the list goes on.

I have a playlist for when I’m angry, when I’m anxious and when I need a “mood booster”, when I need to Know God is with me and when I need to prevent self harm, but I’ve struggled to find a playlist for the depths of depression.

Last night I found “deep dark indie”. I listened to it for hours when I felt alone I herd the sounds of pain in others reaching out connecting to my soul.

What playlists help you?

I will also share about the positive and sometimes challenging approaches that health professionals have used in my treatment in emergency, inpatient, outpatient and community settings. I hope that by sharing my lived experience I can help improve the experience of those struggling to understand Borderline Personality Disorders (BPD) and also support those living with BPD and other mental health challenges Most importantly we will share how occupation can powerfully help change lives!"
