‘Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder Foundations’ is the first course in the modules. It provides a foundation towards understanding and exploring what is Borderline Personality Disorder.

Background/ Overview:
This course was developed by Laura Thyer who has a diagnosis of BPD. Through research and lived experience, this module would be beneficial for anyone new to a diagnosis of BPD and is findings themselves feeling confused and overwhelmed.

Week 1: What is Borderline Personality Disorder and how does it impact upon my life?
Week 2: What does recovery look like for someone with BPD?
Week 3: Understanding our body systems: Distress tolerance skills (DBT informed) and occupations that help us lower our arousal
Week 4: How can I find balance, meaning and purpose?
Week 5: Learning about the sensors and Building a sensory tool kit
Week 6: Working towards our goals: Putting it all together with a Module Recap
