Aim: This presentation aims to introduce the paradigm shift of autistic parenting. Participants will learn about autistic neurology and how it applies to parenting, explore the paradigm shift needed to move towards authentic neurodivergent parenting practices, and receive practical tips to begin the journey today.

Learning Objectives:

Identify the current literature on parenting practices.

Discuss the paradigm shifts needed to support neurodivergent parenting.

Generate an action plan for supporting neuroinclusive parenting.

About:

Sarah is an Occupational Therapist who is largely a Social Media Advocate now, but also works locally in mental health and foster care. Sarah was the first openly autistic person elected to government in the United States.
